A seven week prayer experience focused on seeking God through discerning a decision.
Offered to individuals who have completed the Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life or similar experience, including 30-day silent retreat or another form of the 19th Annotation.
The goal of discernment is to grow in relationship with God, becoming more sensitive to God’s unique call within each person. The best way to learn discernment is by doing a discernment. The fruit of an intentional discernment extends well beyond the actual decision to the peace and joy that comes from sharing one’s life more deeply with God.
We will utilize Elizabeth Liebert’s book, The Way of Discernment: Spiritual Practices for Making a Decision.
Each person is responsible for buying the book prior to class (approx. $18)

Presenter - Lori Stevens
As a spiritual director and retreat leader rooted in the Ignatian Tradition, Lori delights in accompanying others on their spiritual journeys. She is actively engaged with the Ignatian Center of Kansas City as a prayer guide for the Spiritual Exercises, teacher of Ignatian Spirituality and member of the Center’s program committee and Board. Lori holds an M.A. in Christian Spirituality along with a graduate certificate in Spiritual Direction from Creighton University.
Presenter - Joe Snyder
Joe has been actively involved with the Ignatian Spirituality Center (ISC) for several years. He served on the ISC Board of Trustees and is the past chair of the ISC Program Committee of which he is still a member. At the present time, Joe serves as a guide for people making the Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life (SEEL) and facilitates individuals and groups in Short Prayer Programs and programs about Ignatian spirituality. As part of a teaching team Joe assists with the Dynamics of the Spiritual Exercises and Discernment of Spirits courses in the Ignatian Formation Program. His education includes an M. Div. from the Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University and an Ed. D. from the University of Kansas.
PREREQUISITE: Participants will have made the Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life or other comparable 19th Annotation Retreat, or 30-Day Silent Retreat.
