The Spiritual Exercises: Dynamics of Falling in Love

An Ignatian Weekend with Fr. Hung T. Pham, S.J.

This Ignatian Weekend we will explore the dynamics of each week of the Spiritual Exercises through the lens of St. Ignatius’ life and your experience of making the full Exercises. 

Those who have made the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius will be able to follow along and participate fully in the weekend. For those who guide the Exercises, this will be a new lens through which to view the dynamics of the Spiritual Exercises.

Fr. Pham will incorporate presentations, art, music; and provide time for prayer and reflection, sharing in pairs or small groups. All these are aids to help you to reconnect with your experience of making the Exercises and to help dispose you to further graces from the Divine Majesty.

Fr. Pham is the provincial assistant formation for the Central and Southern Province. His role is to work with Jesuits in the initial stages of formation, the extended period of Jesuit training, both academic and experiential. Fr. Pham has spent the past seven years teaching Ignatian Spirituality at the Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University. A Jesuit for 26 years he has also served at St. Louis University High School, the Jesuit Refugee Service and Regis University.

NOTE: This Ignatian Weekend is designed to help those who have made the Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life or the the 30-day retreat to reconnect with and deepen their experience of Christ. 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. - From Faith to Realized Hope: Dynamics of the Holy Spirit Looking for a Body

Eucharist immediately follows and will be a final exercise for the weekend. We will gather in celebration, then be sent out into the world.

Our venue is near the Country Club Plaza where there are many hotel options. A block of rooms has been reserved at Holiday Inn Country Club Plaza. The cost negotiated is $119/night before taxes.
