AUTHOR

Fr. Mark Thibodeaux, S.J. has a pastor's heart and has a life-long experience offering spiritual direction, leading retreats, teaching high school and forming novices in the Jesuit order. Some time ago he said that his greatest desire was to inspire and inform 'the people in the pew,' those who do not have a theological background. Therefore, The Armchair Mystic is very down to earth. Surveys reveal that Christians go to church, in large part, because they hunger for a personal relationship with God. Fr. Thibodeaux desires to meet that hunger in this presentation. He gently but progressively moves the reader/pray-er through the several stages of maturing prayer. He uses easily relatable ordinary life examples to help us see how we can come to be with God in prayer and in our daily life.
