Ignatian Spirituality and People for Others

On March 28 and 29, 2009, on the Rockhurst University

campus, the Ignatian Spirituality Center of Kansas City

will hold its annual Ignatian Weekend, one program among

many offered to the greater Kansas City community.

Through its programs, the Center aims to assist people

of varied faith traditions to explore and deepen their

relationships with God in the person of Jesus Christ.

Sister Marie Schwan, CSJ, a Sister of St. Joseph of Medaille,

will preside over the weekend activities.  She

spent many years as associate director of

Jesuit Retreat House in Oshkosh, Wisconsin;

then as formation directress for her com

munity in New Orleans, Louisiana; and now

as a spiritual guide, retreat director, and

instructor serving on the staff of the Sioux

Spiritual Center in Howes, South Dakota.

She has, moreover, authored or co-authored

a number of books that guide people through

various forms of prayer, including Praying with St. Ignatius of Loyola. For further information, click here.
